Is there anything more wonderful than Freedom!
We were born to be free. Like a bird was meant to fly, God created us to be free in Spirit , mind, body and soul.
The Gospel gives us Freedom. God sent His Son Jesus to this earth. He came for one purpose:
To liberate man from the misery of sin.
Sin enslaves us to do and become something we were not made for.
We say we are living in what is regarded as the ‘Free World” – Australia like most western cultures are free, but are we really?
In the ‘Free world’ we have more opportunities, potential, dreams, possibilities, money, some of the greatest most breath taking places, natural wonders of the world……yet why do we have the highest suicide , abortion, crime, violence, mental illness in the world.
The greater the potential the more our odds are to suffer anxiety fear and crippling insecurity. This is bondage.
The definition of freedom has been radically redefined over time. The original meaning of freedom was freedom from ourselves and the carnal or animalistic instinct that stirs within us that wages war against God and against good.
Jesus, in His first sermon recorded in Luke’s gospel Chapter 4: 18-19, said,
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, and he has anointed me to be hope for the poor, healing for the brokenhearted, and new eyes for the blind, and to preach to prisoners, ‘You are set free!’ I have come to share the message of Jubilee, for the time of God’s great acceptance has begun.” After he read this he rolled up the scroll, handed it back to the attendant, and sat down. Everyone stared at Jesus, wondering what he was about to say. Then he added, “Today, these Scriptures came true in front of you.”
He came with a clear purpose and mandate to release FREEDOM!
This freedom came at a very high price. The sacrificial life and death of God’s Son.
Only faith and acceptance of His love unlocks true freedom to our heart and soul.
We can experience joy, peace and enjoy the wonder of life.
Faith and relationship in Jesus gives us freedom to live, freedom to love and freedom from sin!
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. “2 Cor 3:17
Our prayer is that you would know true freedom and live your best life for God!
