“The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear?

The Lord is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1

There are some days that seem challenging and we can be overwhelmed by the difficulties we face. When we feel weary and need to be encouraged, David the Psalmist has the greatest remedy. He tells us to declare our faith in God.

The faith in our heart can declare God’s goodness regardless of our frail emotions or the circumstances we face. Your faith is so precious to God.  You must not lose heart when the going gets rough. Remember you are kept by the power of God through your faith.

1 Peter 1:6-8 says, “In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honour, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.”

Rejoice and let God work His purpose in your trial. Have faith in God, friend.

Faith is the absolute conviction of things before it is seen. Faith is acting on what you believe.

David knew God was for Him and God was with him.

So when  David was surrounded by trouble and enemies  he declared ,

“The Lord is my light and my salvation……the strength of my life.”

When things look dark or you really don’t know what God is doing all you can do is trust Him.

He is the only light you should follow when your way is obscure. His light is only found in the truth of His Word not in the opinion of man. The Word of God has the only truth you must trust and obey. The will of man and the will of God are two total opposites. Jesus reveals  truth and light and He gives us strength in our inner man to endure even the worst of situations. We are so privileged to have the Light of Jesus and the Word of God guiding our steps, our decisions and our words.

Jesus Christ gives strength and light to us when we are in a personal relationship with Him.  He gives true peace in all circumstances.  Jesus is the Light of the world and brings illumination to everything in His time. David loved and lived by the Word of God.  When you are in trouble, face danger or  feel afraid, hear Christ, “I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace.

In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33  He is the Strength of your life. Declare this and keep going no matter what!
