Empowered for Abundant Life

EMPOWERED FOR ABUNDANT LIFE

Can we really have “ THE ABUNDANT LIFE”?

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill and to destroy.

I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly.”

John 10:10

I love this declaration by Jesus.  Deep down, doesn’t everyone want this?

Christ came to bring Abundant Life to all mankind. He died and laid down His life so we could access and receive His Life. He has empowered us for a life of abundance. He said, John 10:10 “But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect life in its fullness until you overflow!”

What is Abundant life? The Greek word for abundance is ‘Perissos’. It means having superabundance, excessive, overflowing surplus, over and above, more than enough more than is sufficient! This is awesome and wonderful for every believer in Christ.

Abundance is being full and running over. Not everyone who believes in Jesus is experiencing the full abundant life. It’s stolen from them. All that is in Christ, His heart mind, nature, power, love… is ours in the Spirit. The fullness of Jesus has been given to us, in His grace. It’s something we can take hold of now, not when we get to heaven.

John 1:16 “And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace”.  St. Paul prayed in Eph 3:17-20 “… that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Abundant spiritual life is rooted and grounded in the love of God.

In order for us to take hold of our abundant life, we must love God and obey His Word.

He never blesses disobedience. To have fruitful lives comes from the overflow of our intimacy and relationship with Jesus and our Heavenly Father.

Man was always designed for abundance– body, mind, soul and Spirit.

Adam and Eve had abundance in the garden. Jesus said, the “thief comes to steal, kill and destroy.”

The devil deceived them and stole that abundant life from them.

They listened to the wrong voice.  Do you feel robbed from the abundant life? Perhaps it’s because we listen and follow the wrong voice? We are robbed through lies and deception.

I truly believe the only way I won’t be deceived by the evil one, is to stay in love with Jesus and look into His face and hear His voice for my life.

The Good Shepherd is Christ and His voice only leads us into His abundant life. I

n Christ, is everything you could ever want or need. Ps. 23:1. You lack nothing. The truth is God not only desires you to live an abundant life, but He has equipped you to do so.

The power to live out this an abundant life is not tied to you making it happen, but in you submitting yourself fully to Jesus Christ and listening to His voice and obeying His Word.  Don’t allow the devil, your past, or your negative attitude to ruin you taking hold of the good and overflowing goodness of God. “We have everything we need to live a life that pleases God. It was all given to us by God’s own power.” 2 Pet 1:3.

You are empowered for the abundant life today!
